So, one week in and we 've been to Hong Kong and just finished our tour of Vietnam. Both 'interesting' experiences. Hong Kong hotel V Posh; had a 'How'd they do that moment' when we stepped out of the taxi at the hotel and were greeted by name.... Either this is Chinese ESP that they are keeping secret from the West or we were the only guilos arriving that evening....
View from our hotel
Didn't do too much in HK - both pretty jet lagged. Did manage a few of the usual tourist things...went to Stanley market and on a Star ferry over to Kowloon. Didn't do the Victoria Peak thing as a) it was too foggy and b) we were too lazy to get up in time.

Vietnam has been memorable for a number of reasons. The main ones being the beautiful scenary, how hard the seats in the mini bus after seven hours travelling on serioulsy dodgy roads, the incredible poverty some people live in and the general friendliness of everyone we've met. Oh yeah, and a) the maximum number of people you really can get on a moped is 5 b) a moped can take all your stuff to market. c) Saigon has 8 million people and nearly the same number of mopeds, all of which seem to be on the road at once and all heading for a major accident everywhere you look. Other memorable bits have been a GIGANTIC cockroach landing on Andy's collar during dinner on our first night (it was THIS big, and yes, I screamed!) and weaving in and out of water buffalo drawn carts on Vietnams equivalent of the M1.
